7-Week Beginner Wheel-Throwing Courses
$420 + GST / person

A weekly 2.5 hour wheel throwing class with hands-on instruction in a group setting. You will learn the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. At the end of the course you will have up to twelve unique creations to take home. No experience required! All materials (including clay, tools, aprons) are provided; no additional purchases necessary. Glaze and firing fees are also included in the cost of this class. Maximum class size of 9.
What to expect each week:

Week 3: Trimming
Week 4: Mini Glaze (test tiles) and Throwing
Week 5: Throwing - Last Wet Clay Day

7-Week Progressing Potters Wheel-Throwing Course
$420 + GST / person
Fridays from 2:00pm - 4:30pm | See dates listed at the top of this page.
This 7 week course is led by Pat (@pat_jaffray) on Friday afternoons. In this post-beginner wheel class, Pat will meet each student where they’re at, and build from each individual’s current skill level. In each class you can expect to watch a demonstration of a new form or technique, and the remainder of the class will focus on individual coaching, with impromptu demos and explanations as needed. Each week and rotation of this class will have varied demonstrations as dictated by the participants each week. Maximum class size of 8.
What’s Included:
Each participant will receive one bag of M340 clay (included) to start. Additional clay is available for purchase from mud directly, allowing students the freedom to explore the use of different clay bodies. Other materials (ie. basic tools, aprons) are provided. Glaze and firing fees are also included in the cost of this class.
Pre-Requisite: You must have completed a minimum of two multi-week wheel classes at mud prior to enrolling in this course.

Bring your date, your mother, your brother, whoever you want! A one-time, 2 hour lesson for you and a throw down partner. You will each have your own wheel and tackle the basics of wheel throwing in a group. Pick two of your favourite creations at the end of your lesson, then we will finish and fire them for you. Beginner friendly. Materials are provided.
Optional: Pick a succulent or cactus from our collection, or try out the amazing candle making pop-up curated by Milk Jar for our studio! Anything you make can be made into a Milk Jar candle or be potted with a plant.
$3/ oz of coconut-soy wax $7-20/ plant
*Pieces will be available for pick up approximately 2-3 weeks later.

Hand-Building Beer Steins at Ol’ Beautiful Brewing Co.
Sunday June 2nd from 6:00pm - 8:30pm
$85 + GST / person
Call up your liquid courage and prepare to get muddy during this kick ass workshop held at Ol’ Beautiful Brewing Co. Each participant will hand-build and decorate their own unique stein. Each attendee will receive 2 drinks ticket to enjoy a local brew during the workshop. No prior experience required. Materials are provided. Primary instructor: Emily (@ceremics.ceramics).
*This workshop is held at Ol’ Beautiful Brewing Co. and recurs approximately every two months.

FAMILY HAND BUILDING - COIL POTS EDITION
Sunday July 21st from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
$140+gst / Pair
Get ready for a hands-on family craft, where each attendee will make their very own summer plant pot! The pots will be assembled primarily using coiling techniques. One cactus or succulent per person included! Ages 8 and up; each child must be accompanied by an adult. Materials are provided, and no previous clay experience required. Maximum class size of 10. Taught by Megan (@motormouthceramics).
*Each ticket purchase is good for one adult and one child. Each person will create a plant pot, therefore each pair will take home two pots altogether.
*Pieces will be available for pick up approximately 2-3 weeks later.
