Sold Out

Taught by Emily (@emilystoney)

MARCH-APRIL SESSION: Mondays  ⋅  6:30-9:00pm  ⋅  Feb 23 - Apr 6

This class is for confident potters who are ready to push their skills further. We’ll focus on refining technique while exploring larger forms, advanced construction, and more complex projects. You’ll complete pieces throughout the course, but the emphasis is on learning, control, and problem-solving, rather than production.

Come with ideas and inspiration! Whether that’s new forms you want to try, functional challenges to tackle, or projects you’ve been wanting to attempt (like teapots or other complex vessels). The goal of this class is to make new shapes with greater ease and control, develop your ideas into finished pieces, and deepen your understanding of the fundamentals behind quality pottery.

Prerequisite:
-Minimum of two beginner wheel classes and ample self-directed studio time
-Ability to wedge and centre 2 lbs of clay consistently, without assistance
-Comfortable throwing basic cylinders and bowls
-Working knowledge of trimming fundamentals

What’s Included:
The base class fee is $380 and does not include clay. After registration, we’ll email you with instructions to select and purchase your first bag of clay. Sample images of available clay bodies can be viewed online here. This setup allows you the flexibility to explore different clay bodies throughout the course. Basic tools and aprons are provided, and glaze and firing fees are included in the class fee.

Please ensure when signing up for a course that you will be able to attend all lessons scheduled for that course. Ceramics are typically completed on a weekly basis due to the drying time required for your pieces each week. Our full cancellation/rescheduling policy is available here.

Full for now — add yourself to the waitlist by entering your email below. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis!
