GUEST WORKSHOP: Surface Decoration with Beth Harden
Sat Feb 21st from 1:00 - 4:00 PM
$150 + GST / Person
Join us for a workshop with Canadian ceramic artist Beth Harden (@bethhardenceramics), known for her beautifully carved and illustrated surfaces.
Beth is an enthusiastic ceramic artist who has been shaping her creative journey since 1999. Her time in the stunning Northwest Territories has deeply influenced her designs bringing a touch of natures beauty into her work.
After diving into various online workshops, she’s mastered new techniques that have made her creations even more intricate and eye catching. Now that she’s made the move to Alberta, Beth can’t wait to connect with fellow clay lovers and continue growing her skills in the vibrant world of ceramics.
Work alongside Beth as she guides you through her full process! From image transfer and carving to inlay and painting techniques. She’ll share her go-to tools, favorite Canadian suppliers, and the products she uses to achieve her distinct aesthetic.
Each participant will receive one pre-made leather-hard mug, provided by Beth, to ensure the ideal consistency for carving and surface design. She’ll bring a variety of Chrysanthos Color products to demonstrate and share, along with stencils for participants to use. You’re also welcome to bring your own small (approx. 3x3 inch or mug-sized) stencil or image to personalize your work.
Some classroom tools will be available, but Beth recommends pre-ordering a DiamondCore PV1 Tool if you’d like to invest in your own (available to add-on to your purchase).
After the workshop, mud will clear glaze and fire your piece to completion.
